If yes, this could be the job for you. Perth & Kinross Council aims to work with residents to reduce the volume of waste going to landfill and to offer recycling opportunities wherever possible. The overall purpose of the role includes the day-to-day operation of the allocated vehicle, supervision of staff within activities under your control, and the collection and delivery of materials associated with the Council’s street sweeping, recycling centres and recycling points. You will drive a range of vehicles, including Tipmasters with trailer, and operate associated ancillary equipment. When not driving, you will undertake ancillary duties relevant to Environment Service activities, such as refuse and litter collection. You may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time depending on the requirement of the Service without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibilities entailed. You will also be included in the Winter standby rota and will be available to work additional hours, outside normal working hours. Some works are planned in advance, but some may be unforeseen, in which case short term availability may be required at short notice.
