Location: Horley Pay: £20.00 per hour Hours: 5 hours per week (initially 3 hours PA support and 2 hours cleaning support) – afternoon is better. - We are seeking a kind, reliable and compassionate Personal Assistant to support Cath, who is living with later-stage Alzheimer's disease, in her own home in Horley. - This rewarding role would suit someone with experience supporting people living with dementia and who is confident providing personal care and assistance with day-to-day living. - About the Role Cath enjoys getting out of the house for a walk or a drive and would benefit from support from someone who can provide companionship as well as practical assistance. Duties will include: • Personal care support, including assistance with dressing, bathing/showering and oral hygiene • Supporting Cath with meal preparation and eating meals • Prompting and assisting with medication • Light household duties and cleaning • Providing companionship and emotional support • Supporting safe community access, including walks and outings - About You The ideal candidate will: • Have a good understanding of Alzheimer's disease, particularly the later stages • Be patient, caring and respectful • Be comfortable assisting with all aspects of personal care and daily living • Be reliable and trustworthy • Be willing to support both at home and on occasional outings - Additional Information • There is a friendly Staffordshire Bull Terrier in the home, so applicants must be comfortable around dogs. • Hours are currently 5 per week, comprising 3 hours of Personal Assistant support and 2 hours of cleaning support. There will be the opportunity for additional hours if the right person is found, and more hours are wanted. This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to someone's quality of life while providing valuable support to a person living with dementia in their own home.
