    Purpose To lead the safe, compliant and commercially effective delivery of industrial and commercial gas metering projects, with particular focus on >2 bar metering systems. To provide engineering leadership as an Incorporated/Chartered Engineer, acting as SCO Authorising Engineer and ensuring compliance with PSSR, IGEM standards and Stark governance requirements." Responsibilities & Accountabilities Deliver a programme of gas meter installations/exchanges (from primarily HP and IP gas meters), in line with the annual target programme. Approve designs and technical solutions within delegated authority, act as technical authority for >2 bar metering installations, support investigations following technical incidents or non-conformances, ensure engineering standards remain current and effective. Working with the wider team of gas metering engineers, deliver each project in accordance with budget, timelines, regulations and standards, and customer expectations - delivering excellent customer service, time and again. Maintain compliance with PSSR, including the maintenance and implementation of relevant company policies, procedures and controls – as well as the successful completion of all PSSR audits. Prepare accurate cost plans and competitive customer quotations for HP, IP and other gas meter installation services, supporting efforts to secure orders for future HP and IP meter installations/exchanges. Build and maintain a network of suppliers and subcontractors capable of supporting the delivery of HP and IP meter installations. Prepare or arrange and submit H&S RAMS/Lifting Plans etc. for the installation and maintenance of gas metering assets. Act in the role of project initiator following GL5 design management procedures, providing or seeking the necessary approvals. Build strong relationships and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders who are critical to the delivery of HP / IP. Respond to technical queries from clients, colleagues and suppliers accurately, clearly and in a timely manner. Support meter asset maintenance and inspection programme, as required. Support and co-ordinate SEL out-of-hours Meter Emergency Service cover. Provide technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to engineers and contractors involved in gas metering activities. Adhere to all Stark policies, procedures and working practices. Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others who may be affected by what you do; use work equipment provided safely and co-operate with managers to provide safe systems of work. I&C metering accreditations and Gas Safe Register (GSR) Detailed knowledge of IGEM standards Contractor management experience and CDM awareness. Previous experience of working in, as well as a passion for, the natural gas industry – ideally either metering or distribution. Ability to visit and access 3rd party construction sites. Must be literate, numerate and IT proficient, particularly with MS office package, MS Word, Excel etc. Desirable Strong knowledge of the gas metering industry, particularly I&C meters Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment and also as stand-alone SCO qualifications.
