An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Acute Team at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital and Andover War Memorial Hospital. We are looking for a Bank Band 4 Therapy Practitioner to join our established, friendly and experienced team. The role will require a highly motivated enthusiastic individual who has the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to show initiative, have good communication and organisational skills, being able to prioritise a caseload in a busy acute setting. We are looking for an experienced Band 6 or current Band 7 Physiotherapist, with a keen interest in the field of critical care physiotherapy. You will have a wide range of clinical experience, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient centred care. You will have the opportunity to develop your specialist skills and knowledge in the areas of respiratory physiotherapy including NIV, ventilator and tracheostomy weaning and rehabilitation within the critical care. You must be able to participate in 7 days working and evening on calls. • To provide clinical leadership alongside the Clinical Lead Therapist in the planning, organisation, co-ordination, delivery, evaluation and development of the critical care / surgical / medical physiotherapy service throughout the hospital, on a day-to-day basis. • To take a leading role in the advanced physiotherapy assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have complex needs or presentation. To provide expert opinions on weaning and rehabilitation of patients in critical care. • To undertake a significant clinical caseload working at a specialist level with other agencies and health professionals and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner. • To maintain and develop a level of expertise within the speciality and as a senior clinician play an active part in the post graduate training of physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and other members of the healthcare team. • To actively support the development and evaluation of clinical practice by postgraduate education, clinical audit and research. • To work with other senior clinicians and team leaders within physiotherapy to provide integrated care across the specialist areas and between acute and community services. • To be responsible for service development within the team, to implement policy and policy changes within the clinical area in partnership with the Clinical Service Lead, physiotherapy and MDT colleagues. • Continued in Job description. This will be to support University Hospitals of Derby and Burton and Derbyshire Community Health Services.
