A warm and professional family of three in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, is looking for an experienced, reliable housekeeper to help maintain the day-to-day running of their home. The family has a 14-year-old daughter and a dog, which is regularly exercised by a dog walker. This position is primarily focused on housekeeping, but applicants should enjoy being around children. You will be the responsible adult in the home when their daughter returns from school. While she is very independent and does not require childcare, the family would appreciate someone who can encourage her to complete her homework, provide a friendly presence, and help establish a consistent evening routine. The working hours are Monday to Thursday, 15.00-19.00 (16 hours/week). The role could also work as a three day (12 hour/week) position if preferred, the salary would be adjusted for this. The family employs a weekly cleaner, so your role will be to ensure the home remains clean, organised, and running efficiently between visits. Duties will include: · Keeping the home tidy and well organised, including a daily reset of the kitchen, bedrooms, and living areas · Managing the family’s laundry, including washing, ironing, and bed linen · Changing beds on a regular basis · Unpacking and putting away grocery deliveries and household shopping · Planning, preparing, and cooking healthy, nutritious family meals in line with an agreed menu and any dietary requirements · Ensuring their daughter is organised for the following day, including school uniform, school bag etc, and any other essentials · Running occasional household errands, such as visiting the post office or dry cleaners · Feeding the family dog A full driving licence and your own car are essential, as some driving will be required.
