Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored. What will you be doing? Initially youll take part in our structured training program, before moving out into the field. Start your day by signing into your handheld device & planning your route. Meters can be inside or outside properties, so you’ll need to choose what time you’re more likely to gain access to an inside meter. You’ll spend your day walking or driving (depending on the area you cover) from property to property, always ensuring your own and customers’ safety. Once you arrive, you’ll read the meters and record the information accurately, dealing with members of the public and ensuring excellent customer service. You work on your own quickly and efficiently in an independent role, always with the support of your field manager and wider metering team. Come rain or shine you’ll brave the elements to get the job done.
