Personal Assistant Required – North Glasgow (G22) Love music, good conversation and dogs? This could be the role for you. I'm a friendly woman living in North Glasgow looking for a Personal Assistant to support me to live independently and enjoy everyday life. A little about me... Music has always been a huge part of my life. I spent many years working with record labels and have a passion for discovering new artists and sharing favourite tracks. My music taste is wide-ranging, although I must admit country music has never quite won me over. I also enjoy keeping active through wheelchair exercises, spending time with my dog, I like playing the flute and having a good laugh. Life is far too short to be serious all the time, so a sense of humour is important. If you enjoy a bit of Glasgow banter and can hold a good conversation over a cuppa, we'll probably get along well. About the role As my Personal Assistant, you'll provide support that helps me remain independent and continue doing the things I enjoy. I'm an intermittent wheelchair user and some days I need a little extra help due to fatigue or dizziness, but I like to keep life positive, relaxed and full of laughter. Your role will include: • Supporting me around the home with light household duties • Accompanying me to hospital appointments when required • Assisting with personal care and daily living tasks • Helping care for my small dog, including occasional walks • Providing practical physical support, including wheelchair transfers and helping lift or move items on days when fatigue or dizziness make things more difficult • Being a friendly and reliable presence who understands that good support is about teamwork, flexibility and respect About you I am looking for someone who is: • Kind, patient and genuinely caring • Reliable, trustworthy and easy to get along with • Comfortable providing physical assistance when required • A driver with a full clean driving licence • Relaxed, down-to-earth and able to have a laugh • Happy to chat about music, life and everyday things • Confident using their initiative while respecting my choices and independence • Must be comfortable around dogs A love of music, interest in live gigs, instruments or the music industry would be a definite bonus, but enthusiasm and the right personality matter most. Hours and Rate of Pay • 26 hours per week • £14.45 per hour • Monday to Friday • Typical start time 9:30am to 10:00am • Usually 5-hour shifts, with one flexible 6-hour day each week Applicants living within a reasonable travelling distance are preferred to support reliability and flexibility. Interested? If you're friendly, dependable and think we'd get along, I'd love to hear from you. Bonus points if you enjoy discovering new music, don't mind a bit of Glasgow banter, and can accept that country music probably isn't making it onto the playlist anytime soon! Apply online or send your CV to par@gcil.org.uk quoting reference AR/LD/LJ/1.26 in the subject line and body of your email. For an informal chat about the role, please contact GCIL on 0141 550 4455
