Maintenance Officer Contract £15.00 per hour Contracted to 40 hours per week Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract) Role Overview As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment. You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action. Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards. This position is funded through the Direct Payment scheme via York Adult Social Care. The client lives with multiple disabilities, including physical impairments (she uses a powerchair), Autism, ADHD, and complex mental health conditions (C-PTSD, clinical depression). Her life can be busy and full of events, and she needs a second PA who is organised, patient, and compassionate to help her thrive. The Role This is a flexible, part-time position for approximately 60 hours per 4-week cycle, with duties including: - Assistance with mobility and daily routines. - Support with personal care, including showering and hair washing. Job description To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable/assist me in all aspects of daily living including accompanying me to get out and about, supporting me with tech and correspondence and accompanying me to enjoy time with my daughter on days out. At present I am a white cane user, but outdoors in busy areas I require my PA to guide me. Guide training can be provided. A full uk driving licence is essential for this role. I have my own vehicle for PA’s to drive me in. I require a confident driver who is willing to drive long distances to support me to visit family members. This would require a stay over in a hotel which would be paid for for you. Plus additional overnight salary would be paid as well. This would only be occasionally. A good sense of humour is essential as I enjoy a bit of banter.
