Lifeline is a support service for the elderly and vulnerable tenants and residents of Charnwood Borough Council. Controllers are alerted to customers’ needs by the activation of a pendant or pullcord which sends an alert to the Lifeline monitoring center. The controller is required to ask questions to assess the nature of the emergency and decide on the action to be taken. Action could involve calling the appropriate emergency services, talking to the appropriate medical professionals, or contacting family or carers. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate. This service is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. You will work an average of 24 hours per week, the role is shift work and includes a night, an evening, afternoon, and a morning shift. This includes weekends and bank holidays as per the rota. Some shifts will require lone working. Out of hours you will be responding to calls for emergency repair requests from tenants living in the borough.
