Ensure own education is up to date and current with best practice. Ensure continuing professional development in compliance with General Dental. Attend mandatory training and updates provided by the trust. Attend relevant courses. Assist with research or audit within the department. Educate patients with dietary advice, on oral health and appliance care. Provide health promotion and patient education. Filing radiographs and clinical photographs. Checking treatment plans prior to clinics and general anaesthetic lists. Organising packing / dispatch of lab work and pathology samples. Stock control, storage and ordering. Organising and maintaining the orthodontic study model box system. Preparing take home packs for patients. Recording mail documenting patient details and monitoring referral types. Completing the necessary paperwork for placing patients on the waiting list. Organise the laundry for the department. The role: You will be working as a Trainee Clinical Supervisor in our Mental Health Support Team and will be responsible for providing clinical skills and case management supervision to trainee and qualified EMHP staff. You will hold your own small caseload and deliver MHST interventions in schools. The team includes Qualified and Trainee Educational Mental Health Practitioners, who deliver group and individual low intensity CBT interventions to children and young people and some support packages for parents/caregivers. The post holder will have an active caseload of children and adolescents with mild moderate emotional and mental health difficulties and will use evidence-based therapeutic models. Low intensity, early interventions will be delivered in a range of education settings (primary, secondary, and colleges). The work will also include training for education professionals and developing the teams ability to serve the needs of the whole school community including children and young persons caregivers. As part of this role, you will need to be successful in your application to attend and receive training in supervision of children and young peoples mental health and wellbeing, provided by a University to support this area of your work. The training course is for one years duration and will require up to 20 days of attendance at university over the year, along with course work and assignments. Additional study time and support will be provided. Note, successful completion of this training is a requirement for this role. You will work with CYP and families from different cultural backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities. You will also work closely with colleagues and partners in the Local Authority, SET CAMHS, education settings where interventions are being delivered and other relevant mental health providers. Key Task Areas and Responsibilities: Provide clinical and case management supervision, including support through observations and modelling, to team members who are undertaking EMHP training as well as working with qualified practitioners Attend and complete a supervision training programme provided by a course university (University college London).
