Lead SEN Learning Support Assistant - Ealing
Location: Ealing, West London
Pay: £100-£110 per day PAYE
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
You've built your classroom experience. You understand SEND. You know how to build relationships with pupils, adapt support when something isn't working and recognise the small signs that show a child is making progress.
Now you may be ready for a role that gives you the opportunity to do more.
We are recruiting an experienced Lead SEN Learning Support Assistant in Ealing for a full-time, long-term position within a supportive primary school.
This role offers the chance to remain hands-on with pupils while gradually developing greater responsibility within SEND - giving you valuable experience for the next stage of your education career.
You'll work closely with teachers, the SENCO and other support professionals, helping children with additional needs access learning and become increasingly confident and independent.
Pupils may have needs including:
- Autism / ASC
- ADHD
- SEMH
- Speech, language and communication needs
- Sensory processing differences
- Learning difficulties
- Social and emotional needs
You'll gain experience supporting individual pupils as well as delivering structured interventions with small groups.
This isn't about stepping away from direct pupil support. It's about building on what you already do well.
You'll have opportunities to:
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions
- Support pupils with EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Adapt resources and activities for different needs
- Monitor progress towards individual targets
- Record observations and contribute to pupil reviews
- Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff
- Share successful strategies with other support colleagues
- Help pupils develop communication and independence
- Contribute ideas about how SEND support can be improved
- Work alongside external professionals where appropriate
As your confidence develops, you'll be encouraged to contribute more actively to the wider support provided around individual pupils.
If you're thinking about your longer-term career in education, this position can help you build experience that could support progression towards roles such as:
HLTA • Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant • SEN Intervention Lead • Pastoral Support • Learning Mentor • SEND Coordinator Support
You don't need to have held a formal leadership position before.
We're more interested in someone who already has strong experience supporting children with SEND and is now ready to stretch themselves professionally.
This role could suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Learning Support Assistant, 1:1 Teaching Assistant or Specialist Support Assistant.
You'll ideally have:
- Good experience supporting children with additional needs
- Confidence delivering individual and small-group support
- A strong understanding of inclusive practice
- The ability to recognise and respond to different learning needs
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A calm and consistent approach
- Confidence sharing observations and ideas with colleagues
- A genuine interest in developing your SEND career
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.
You may already be doing much more than your current job title suggests.
This opportunity gives you the chance to turn that experience into something tangible - greater responsibility, stronger SEND knowledge and valuable experience for your next career move.
You'll receive:
- £100-£110 per day PAYE
- Weekly PAYE pay
- No umbrella company deductions
- A full-time, long-term placement
- Experience within an established SEND team
- Opportunities to broaden your responsibilities
- Professional development opportunities
- Dedicated consultant support
