This post is integral to our school and plays an important role in enhancing the opportunities for young people. This post would suit a passionate and motivated colleague who is experienced in working successfully with children with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs to ensure their success. As an Engagement Mentor you will need to share our commitment, vision and values. The Respect Collaboration Trust is not only changing but also growing. Benefits Employee Assistance ProgrammeQualificationsGCSE Maths and English grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent ( essential) Safeguarding Training level 2 (or equivalent) ( desirable) Skills Abilities, Skills and Knowledge Ability to support pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties ( essential) Ability to support pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties ( essential Knowledge and understanding of the reasons for disaffection in young people ( essential) Working knowledge of a range of strategies to develop the behavioural, emotional and social skills of children and young people ( essential) Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures, with particular reference to more vulnerable pupils Knowledge of restorative practices. Experience Successful interventions with children exhibiting challenging behaviour ( essential) Working with a range of agencies to provide support for young people and of attending multi-agency meetings ( essential) Completing individual pupil & other appropriate risk assessments. Experience/Knowledge Track record of building effective relationships with pupils, parents/carers to bring about positive change Personal Attributes Adaptable, flexible & resilient ( essential) Able to recognise when to praise members of the team and also when to challenge underperformance ( essential) Flexibility to adapt to changing and new organisational challenges ( essential) Diplomatic and confident ( essential) Organised and methodical approach work.
