Kingsmead School is seeking to appoint a Site Manager to join our friendly and supportive Estates Team. This is a rewarding and varied role where you will make a real difference to the day-to-day experience of our pupils, staff and visitors. Based primarily at Kingsmead School, you will play a key role in ensuring our site is safe, well-maintained and operating effectively. Working alongside the Senior Site Manager and wider Trust Estates Team, you will help to maintain high standards across the school and contribute to a positive learning environment for all. No two days are the same. From carrying out repairs and maintenance tasks, overseeing contractors and site security, supporting health and safety compliance, and supervising a small team of cleaning and maintenance staff, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role with a wide variety of responsibilities. Whilst experience of working within a school environment would be advantageous, we welcome applications from individuals with experience in facilities management, caretaking, maintenance, construction, property management or other relevant sectors. Full support, training and mentoring will be provided for the successful candidate. The role Key responsibilities include: Maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment. Supporting the day-to-day operation of the school site and facilities. Assisting with planned and reactive maintenance and undertaking repairs within the scope of a competent handyperson. Supporting compliance with health and safety requirements, including risk assessments and COSHH procedures. Liaising with contractors and service providers. Identifying priorities and managing workloads effectively to ensure the smooth operation of the site. Working pattern The role is primarily based at Kingsmead School, Brighton Road, Alvaston, Derby, DE24 8TE. During term time, the working pattern is a split shift: 7.00am to 10.30am 2.00pm to 6.00pm Some flexibility may be possible. As part of our Estates Team, there may occasionally be a requirement to provide support at other Trust schools across the Derby area when required. We are looking for someone who: Has practical maintenance, facilities or caretaking experience. Is organised, dependable and able to work on their own initiative. Has good problem-solving skills and a positive, can-do attitude. Can build positive working relationships with staff, contractors and visitors.
