Summary

SEND Teacher - Sefton

Location: Sefton, Merseyside

Pay: £120-£220 per day

Contract: Full-Time

Start: ASAP

For the right teacher, SEND education offers the opportunity to see progress in ways that go far beyond grades and academic achievement.

We are looking for an enthusiastic SEND Teacher in Sefton to join a supportive specialist setting on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

You'll work with children and young people who need teaching to be flexible, personalised and built around them. Some pupils may have experienced barriers to education, while others may need additional structure, communication support or a different approach to accessing the curriculum.

Your role will be to find what works for each learner.

No two pupils will learn in exactly the same way, so you'll have the freedom to adapt lessons, resources and activities to make learning meaningful and achievable.

You'll be responsible for:

- Delivering engaging lessons suited to individual abilities and needs

- Breaking learning into manageable and achievable steps

- Adapting curriculum content to make it accessible

- Using different teaching approaches to encourage participation

- Tracking individual progress and recognising achievements

- Supporting pupils with SEND to develop confidence and independence

- Establishing clear routines and expectations within the classroom

- Responding positively to behavioural and emotional needs

- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist professionals

- Contributing to individual education and support plans

- Building strong, consistent relationships with pupils

Some of the young people you support may not have found traditional classroom environments easy.

Success could mean a pupil completing a piece of work independently, communicating a need, managing a difficult situation differently or beginning to believe they can succeed in education.

You'll create a classroom where those steps are recognised and where pupils feel safe enough to challenge themselves.

That requires a teacher who can be patient, creative, consistent and adaptable.

You should hold QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification and have an interest in developing your career within SEND education.

Previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs is highly desirable, particularly experience involving:

- Autism / ASC

- ADHD

- SEMH

- Communication and interaction needs

- Learning difficulties

- Behaviour that can challenge

- Pupils requiring differentiated or individualised learning

You'll also need strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals around the child.

This position offers the opportunity to deepen your understanding of specialist education and develop valuable skills in adaptive teaching, behaviour support, personalised learning and inclusive practice.

Experienced SEND Teachers are encouraged to apply, but the opportunity may also suit a qualified teacher who has developed an interest in SEND and wants to take their career in a more specialist direction.

Pay ranges from £120-£220 per day, depending on experience.

If you're looking for a rewarding SEND Teacher opportunity in Sefton and are available for an ASAP start, submit your CV today.

This vacancy is advertised on Senploy - the specialist job board for education, SEND and supporting educational needs.
