SEN Teacher - Liverpool

Location: Liverpool, Merseyside

Pay: £120-£220 per day

Contract: Full-Time

Start Date: ASAP

Make an Impact Where Your Teaching Really Matters

Are you a qualified teacher who understands that progress looks different for every child?

We are looking for a committed and adaptable SEN Teacher to join a supportive specialist education setting in Liverpool, with an ASAP start available.

This is an opportunity to work closely with pupils who require a more personalised approach to education, helping them overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally.

You'll be joining a collaborative environment where teachers, support staff and other professionals work together to ensure pupils receive the individual support they need.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you'll plan and deliver lessons that are engaging, accessible and appropriate to the individual needs of your pupils.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, you'll adapt your teaching, resources and expectations to ensure every learner has the opportunity to participate and progress.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons

- Adapting teaching for pupils with a range of special educational needs

- Setting realistic and meaningful learning goals

- Monitoring progress and adjusting teaching strategies where required

- Creating a calm, structured and encouraging classroom environment

- Supporting pupils with their communication, confidence and independence

- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist support staff

- Contributing to individual support and education plans

- Using positive approaches to behaviour and emotional regulation

- Building trusting and consistent relationships with pupils

- Communicating effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals

More Than Academic Progress

Successful SEND teaching isn't only about what happens academically.

For some pupils, developing communication skills, managing emotions, becoming more independent or feeling confident enough to engage with learning can represent significant progress.

You'll recognise and celebrate those achievements while continuing to provide appropriate challenge and encouragement.

You'll need to be patient, resilient and willing to adapt when something isn't working. The ability to understand the individual child behind the behaviour or learning need will be particularly important.

What We're Looking For

To be considered, you should have:

- QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

- Experience working with children or young people with SEND

- A good understanding of differentiated and personalised teaching

- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils

- A flexible and creative approach to teaching

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills

- A genuine commitment to inclusive education

Experience supporting pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties or additional learning needs would be particularly valuable.

Your Next SEN Teaching Opportunity

If you're looking for a role where you can use your teaching skills to make a meaningful difference, this could be an excellent next step.

You'll have the opportunity to develop your SEND experience, work alongside knowledgeable professionals and support pupils who benefit from teachers willing to understand how they learn best.

Pay is £120-£220 per day, depending on experience, with an ASAP start available.

If you're ready for your next SEN Teacher role in Liverpool, submit your CV today to be considered.

This vacancy is advertised on Senploy - the specialist job board for education, SEND and supporting educational needs.
