A teaching role built around the young person
SEND Inclusion Support is looking for an experienced Nurture Teacher to provide bespoke 1:1 education to a post-16 young person in Devon.
The young person has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) alongside anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, delayed communication, literacy and numeracy skills, attention and concentration difficulties, delayed social interaction skills and sensory needs.
This is an opportunity for a teacher who understands that, particularly beyond school age, education needs to be built around the individual - their communication, interests, strengths, confidence and readiness to learn.
Sessions will be delivered in a way that supports both learning and wider development, with a strong focus on building trust, engagement, independence and confidence.

Our Nurture Curriculum
You won't be expected to create an entire curriculum from scratch.
SEND Inclusion Support has developed its own bespoke Nurture Curriculum - a semi-formal curriculum designed for young people who may be unable to access mainstream education.
It provides structure, progression and resources while giving you the professional freedom to adapt learning around the individual young person. Where appropriate, learning can feed into the National Curriculum and formal education pathways.
Although sessions may take place in the home or community, our Nurture Teachers are never left to work in isolation.
You'll have ongoing support from our wider specialist team, regular communication, curriculum guidance and resources.
Our Nurture Teachers also come together for termly Nurture Teacher Days, providing time to share ideas, resources and experiences, discuss practice and support one another.
