Summary

1:1 Teaching Assistant - Sefton

Location: Sefton, Merseyside

Pay: £95-£105 per day

Contract: Full-Time

Start Date: ASAP

We're looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a welcoming school in Sefton, with an immediate start available.

This role is all about providing consistent, individual support to help one young person get the most from their school day.

You'll take the time to understand how they learn, what helps them feel secure and engaged, and where they need additional encouragement. By building a positive and trusting relationship, you'll help them participate in lessons, overcome barriers and make progress at their own pace.

You'll work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team while providing focused support throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities may include:

- Supporting the pupil on a 1:1 basis during lessons.

- Breaking activities into manageable steps.

- Reinforcing learning and helping maintain engagement.

- Adapting resources and activities to suit individual needs.

- Providing reassurance during difficult moments.

- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

- Helping with transitions between lessons, activities and environments.

- Encouraging communication and social interaction.

- Promoting independence rather than creating reliance on adult support.

- Monitoring progress and sharing observations with teaching and SEND staff.

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Worker or 1:1 Support Assistant would be useful.

However, we're equally interested in the qualities you can bring to the role.

You'll need to be patient, observant and dependable, with the ability to build trust while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.

You'll understand when to offer support, when to encourage and, importantly, when to take a small step back and allow the pupil to try independently.

Experience supporting children or young people with additional educational, behavioural or emotional needs would be particularly beneficial.

You'll receive:

- £95-£105 per day.

- An ASAP start.

- Full-time, consistent work.

- The opportunity to provide meaningful 1:1 support.

- Experience within a supportive school environment.

- Ongoing training and professional development.

- Valuable experience for a future career in SEND, education or pastoral support.

If you're looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant role in Sefton and want a position where you can see the difference your support makes each day, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV for an immediate start.
