Lead and support the financial management of Sunderlandand#39;s ambitious capital investment programme.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to take on the role of Principal Accountant (Capital) within our Financial Management Team.
Reporting to the Strategic Finance Manager for Capital and Economy andamp; Place, you will provide operational leadership and coordination for the Counciland#39;s Capital Programme, supporting the delivery of major regeneration projects, infrastructure investment, housing developments and commercial initiatives across the city.
u The role will involve: /u
Leading the day-to-day financial management of the Counciland#39;s Capital Programme.
Supporting budget holders, project managers and senior officers with financial planning, monitoring and forecasting.
Ensuring robust governance arrangements for capital projects and funding streams.
Coordinating capital budget monitoring, reporting and funding claims.
Providing professional financial advice on complex capital finance matters.
Supporting the effective delivery of major investment and regeneration programmes.

You will be:
A CCAB-qualified accountant.
Experienced in financial management, budgeting and forecasting.
Able to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Confident in analysing and presenting complex financial information.
Organised, proactive and committed to delivering high-quality financial support.
