Summary

Are you an experienced programme manager and people leader who is passionate about improving health and wellbeing?

Sunderland City Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Public Health Practitioner to lead the next phase of Links for Life, Sunderlandand#39;s city-wide prevention model.andnbsp;

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Public Health team at a pivotal point in the programmeand#39;s development. Following the development of a new three-year plan, we are looking for someone to lead delivery of the Links for Life programme, manage a team of five officers and work with partners across the city to turn ambition into action.

Links for Life is Sunderlandand#39;s approach to helping people stay connected to their communities and find the support that matters to them. By bringing together local organisations, services and community groups, it makes it easier for residents to access activities, advice and opportunities that improve health and wellbeing. Working with partners across local authority, housing, health, voluntary and community services, Links for Life plays an important role in strengthening local connections, improving access to support and reducing health inequalities across the city.

As the programme lead, you will:

Lead the delivery of Sunderlandand#39;s Links for Life programme and three-year action plan.

Manage, support and develop a team of five officers.

Build strong relationships with partners across the public, voluntary and community sectors.

Drive the delivery of projects and initiatives that improve wellbeing and reduce health inequalities.

Support the development of a more connected and preventative system across the city.

Use evidence, insight and engagement to influence priorities and improve outcomes.

We are looking for someone with experience of managing complex programmes or projects, building effective partnerships and leading teams.

You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and confident working with a wide range of stakeholders.

Whilst public health experience is desirable, we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant experience in programme management, partnership working, community development, health improvement, commissioning or wider public service leadership roles.
