Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from

September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who wants to gain practical experience working with children and young people while exploring a future career in

teaching, SEND, educational psychology or another education-based profession.

You'll work alongside qualified teachers and experienced school staff, developing your confidence and understanding of what it takes to support pupils effectively in the classroom.

All degree subjects are welcome, and we accept graduates with a

First, 2:1 or 2:2 degree. You don't need to have studied Education — we're interested in your attitude, communication skills and enthusiasm for working with young people.

What Does the Role Offer?

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

Term-time only

What Could Your Day Look Like?

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll be involved in the everyday life of the school and provide support wherever pupils and teachers need it.

You may be asked to:

• Assist teachers during lessons and classroom activities

• Work with individual pupils who need additional support

• Support

small groups with specific areas of learning

• Help pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities

• Assist with targeted interventions

• Support children and young people with

SEND

• Encourage positive behaviour and promote good learning habits

• Help pupils build confidence, resilience and independence

• Provide additional encouragement to pupils who find aspects of learning challenging

• Prepare learning materials and classroom resources

• Help create an organised, positive and inclusive classroom

• Build strong relationships with pupils and become a trusted member of the school team

• Support pupils with their wider social and emotional development

You'll gain exposure to different aspects of school life, helping you develop a broad range of skills and giving you a clearer idea of where you want your education career to take you.

Are You the Graduate We're Looking For?

You don't need previous school experience to be considered. This role is suited to graduates who are keen to learn and want to make a genuine difference to pupils.

We're looking for someone who has:

• A

First, 2:1 or 2:2 degree

A degree in any subject

• A genuine interest in working with children and young people

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A positive, patient and approachable manner

• The ability to build rapport with pupils

• A willingness to listen, learn and take guidance

• A proactive attitude and a good work ethic

• The confidence to get involved in school life

• An ambition to develop a

career within education

• The right to work in the UK on a full-time basis

Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.

Tutoring, coaching, mentoring, volunteering, youth work or other experience involving children would also be valuable.

Ultimately, we're looking for a graduate who is

reliable, enthusiastic and genuinely wants to help pupils achieve their potential.
