What You'll Be Doing
As a
Graduate Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting pupils and teachers across the school.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Supporting teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across the curriculum
• Working with pupils on
1:1 and small-group interventions
• Supporting literacy, numeracy and subject-specific learning
• Providing additional support to pupils who need extra guidance or encouragement
• Supporting children and young people with
SEND and helping remove barriers to learning
• Promoting positive behaviour, confidence, resilience and independence
• Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and learning resources
• Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
• Supporting pupils to develop their academic, social and emotional skills
• Helping create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive
What We're Looking For
We're looking for graduates who are enthusiastic about working with children and young people and are serious about developing a
long-term career within education.
You'll have:
• A
First Class, 2:1 or 2:2 degree
•
A degree in any subject — all university courses will be considered
• A genuine passion for working with children and young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, positive and proactive approach
• The confidence to build positive relationships with pupils
• A willingness to learn from experienced teachers and school leaders
• The motivation to develop your classroom and communication skills
• A genuine ambition to pursue a career within
education
• The right to work in the UK on a full-time basis
Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.
