Graduate Secondary Teaching Assistant to join their team from
September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to gain genuine experience working with young people, understand the day-to-day life of a secondary school and develop the skills needed to progress into a career in education.
Your degree subject doesn't matter. We welcome graduates from all academic backgrounds, whether you've studied Maths, English, Science, Psychology, Sport, History, Business, Languages, the Arts or another subject.
Graduates with a
First, 2:1 or 2:2 degree are all encouraged to apply.

What Will You Be Doing?
As a Graduate Secondary Teaching Assistant, you'll provide practical support to teachers and students throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities could include:
• Supporting teachers during lessons across a range of subjects
• Working with students who need additional academic or pastoral support
• Providing
1:1 and small-group assistance
• Helping students stay focused, engaged and confident in their learning
• Supporting literacy, numeracy and subject-specific activities
• Working with students who have
SEND or additional learning needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students develop independence
• Supporting students who may lack confidence or require additional encouragement
• Assisting teachers with classroom resources and lesson preparation
• Building positive relationships with students and staff
• Helping create a calm, inclusive and productive learning environment
You may also have the opportunity to gain experience across different year groups, giving you a broader understanding of secondary education.
Who Are We Looking For?
You don't need to have studied Education, and previous experience working in a school isn't essential. We're interested in graduates who are:
• Educated to degree level with a
First, 2:1 or 2:2 classification
• From
any degree subject
• Passionate about supporting young people
• Confident communicating with students and adults
• Patient, approachable and resilient
• Positive and proactive in their approach
• Comfortable working as part of a wider school team
• Keen to learn from experienced teachers
• Interested in developing a
long-term career in education
• Eligible to work in the UK on a full-time basis
Previous experience working with children or young people, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or volunteering is advantageous, but
not essential.
