Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from

September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has experience working within a school environment and is confident supporting pupils, delivering learning activities and taking on additional classroom responsibilities.

The successful candidate will play an important role within the school, working closely with teachers and senior staff to support pupils' academic progress, behaviour and wider development.

A university degree would be advantageous, but this is not essential. The most important thing is that you have the relevant school-based experience, confidence and skills to make an immediate positive contribution.

What Does the Role Offer?

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Term-time only

Your Role

As a

Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you'll be expected to take an active role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.

Depending on the needs of the school, your responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teachers with the planning and delivery of lessons

• Leading

whole-class, small-group and 1:1 learning activities

• Delivering targeted interventions to support pupil progress

• Taking responsibility for specific learning activities or sessions

• Supporting pupils across the curriculum

• Providing additional support to pupils with

SEND

• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning

• Managing behaviour confidently and consistently

• Encouraging pupils to become more independent and engaged in their learning

• Supporting classroom organisation and preparation

• Assisting teachers with assessment and monitoring pupil progress

• Building strong and professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents

• Providing feedback to teachers on pupil engagement and progress

• Helping maintain high standards of behaviour, achievement and classroom expectations

The role will suit someone who is confident taking initiative and can adapt quickly to the changing needs of a busy school environment.

What We're Looking For

This is

not an entry-level or graduate position. We're looking for someone who already understands the demands of working in a school and can confidently step into a more senior support role. You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience working as a

Teaching Assistant, HLTA, Learning Support Assistant or similar

• Strong experience working with children or young people in an educational setting

• The confidence to lead learning activities independently

• Experience supporting pupils with

SEND would be advantageous

• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A calm, patient and consistent approach

• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team

• The confidence to take initiative and accept additional responsibility

• A professional and reliable attitude

• A genuine commitment to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing

A university degree would be advantageous but is not essential

• The right to work in the UK on a full-time basis

take ownership, lead activities and provide high-quality support to pupils.
