Salary: £31,000–£34,000 per annum, depending on qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
Job Summary
Pure N Sure Limited, trading as Desi S-Mart Supermarket, is looking for an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its specialist South Asian grocery supermarkets. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing store operations, leading the retail team, maintaining stock availability across a wide range of Indian and international grocery products, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth while maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operation of the supermarket to ensure efficient and profitable performance.
Lead, supervise, train and motivate retail staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
Oversee stock ordering and inventory management for grocery, frozen foods, spices, snacks, fresh produce, pooja items and household products.
Ensure products are displayed attractively and merchandising standards are maintained throughout the store.
Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve revenue and customer satisfaction.
Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure product availability and timely deliveries.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, trading standards and Company policies.
Handle customer enquiries and complaints promptly and professionally.
Manage staff rotas, attendance, recruitment and performance reviews.
Monitor cash handling procedures, banking and daily financial reconciliations.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and store presentation.
Support promotional activities and seasonal product launches.

Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Retail Manager or in a similar management position.

Experience managing stock, merchandising and supplier relationships.
Experience maintaining compliance with food safety and retail regulations.
Qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
Level 3 qualification in Retail Management, Business Management or a related field is desirable.
Food Safety qualification is advantageous.
