Salary: £29,000–£32,000 per annum, depending on qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
Job Summary
Pure N Sure Limited, trading as Desi S-Mart Supermarket, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Shop Supervisor to support the day-to-day operation of its specialist South Asian grocery supermarkets. The successful candidate will supervise store staff, ensure excellent customer service, maintain stock availability, and assist the management team in delivering efficient and compliant retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily activities of retail staff and provide guidance during trading hours.
Support the Retail Manager and Assistant Retail Manager in the efficient operation of the store.
Ensure high standards of customer service and promptly resolve customer queries and complaints.
Monitor stock levels, replenish shelves and ensure products are displayed attractively.
Assist with stock ordering, deliveries and inventory control.
Ensure all pricing, promotions and product displays are accurate and up to date.
Monitor cash handling procedures, till operations and daily reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, trading standards and Company policies.
Assist with staff training, induction and performance monitoring.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and store presentation.
Act as the responsible person during shifts and report operational issues to management.
Support promotional campaigns and seasonal merchandising activities.

Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a retail supervisory, senior sales assistant or similar role.
Experience working within a supermarket, grocery or convenience retail environment is desirable.
Experience supervising staff and supporting daily retail operations.
Experience in stock control, merchandising and customer service.
Experience ensuring compliance with food safety and health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Retail, Business or a related field is desirable.
Food Safety qualification is advantageous but not essential.
