Salary: £31,000–£33,000 per annum, depending on qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
Job Summary
Pure N Sure Limited, trading as Desi S-Mart Supermarket, is seeking a proactive Assistant Retail Manager to support the Retail Manager in the daily operation of its specialist South Asian grocery supermarkets. The successful candidate will assist with supervising staff, maintaining stock levels, delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth running of store operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Retail Manager in the daily operation of the supermarket.
Supervise staff and provide guidance during trading hours.
Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer enquiries professionally.
Assist with stock ordering, replenishment and inventory control across grocery and specialist product ranges.
Monitor product availability and ensure shelves are fully stocked and well presented.
Support merchandising and promotional activities.
Assist with staff training, induction and performance monitoring.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety and Company procedures.
Support cash handling, banking and store administration.
Act as Duty Manager in the Retail Manager's absence.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and customer service.

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a retail supervisory or assistant management role.
Experience within a supermarket, grocery or convenience retail environment.
Experience supervising staff and supporting store operations.
Experience in stock management and customer service.
Experience maintaining operational and food safety standards.
Qualifications
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
Level 3 qualification in Retail, Business or Management is desirable.
Food Safety qualification is advantageous.
