Cover People are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist primary school in Bolton. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils aged 4-11 with a range of complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and communication needs. The school provides a personalised, therapeutic approach to learning, working closely with families and external professionals to help every child achieve their full potential.
The Role:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Assist children with complex learning, communication and sensory needs.
- Help deliver engaging, personalised learning activities tailored to individual EHCP targets.
- Support the development of communication, independence and life skills.
- Work alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to provide high-quality support.
- Assist with personal care where required.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school, care or support setting.
- Knowledge of Autism, SLD, PMLD or complex learning needs is desirable.
- A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
