Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to support young people with additional needs in a specialist setting?
Cover People are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist school in Salford. This rewarding role involves working with pupils aged 9-19 with moderate and complex learning difficulties, helping them to access a personalised curriculum and develop the confidence and life skills they need for adulthood. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, high expectations and commitment to ensuring every learner achieves their full potential.
- Support pupils with a range of SEND, including moderate and complex learning difficulties.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support in lessons.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual EHCP targets.
- Encourage communication, independence and social development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
- Support pupils with personal care where required.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school, care or support setting.
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism or complex needs is desirable but not essential.
