Summary
Desian Education are proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Runcorn, who are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team on a full-time temporary basis due to additional funding.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive school community where you will play a key role in raising attainment and supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning through targeted intervention work across Key Stage 2.
Your new role:
As a Teaching Assistant within this school, you will work alongside the Key Stage 2 teaching team to support pupils across Years 3 to 6. You will deliver targeted interventions designed to improve academic progress, confidence and engagement, working closely with class teachers to identify individual learning needs and tailor support accordingly.
A significant part of your role will involve independently planning and delivering both 1:1 and small group intervention sessions in literacy and numeracy, using assessment information to monitor progress and adapt learning where necessary.
In addition, you will provide dedicated 1:1 speech, language and communication support for a select group of pupils, helping to develop their communication skills, vocabulary, confidence and ability to engage successfully within the classroom environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering targeted 1:1 and small group interventions across Key Stage 2.
• Supporting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving individual targets.
• Delivering structured speech, language and communication sessions for identified pupils.
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to class teachers and the SENDCO.
• Promoting positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and wellbeing.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to ensure high-quality provision for all learners.
