Third in Charge

£30,500 per year | Level 3 | 40 Hours per Week | All Year Round

 

This beautiful nursery, set within a stunning converted building that has been thoughtfully refurbished and now they are looking for an experienced Level 3 Third in Charge to join its leadership team.

 

Outside, children have access to a fantastic garden with plenty of opportunities for adventure, ensuring every child can safely enjoy fresh air and outdoor exploration. Indoors, thoughtfully designed spaces encourage creativity and curiosity, with dedicated areas for messy play, imaginative art projects, and quiet spaces where children can relax, read, and recharge.

 

Working closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll help lead the team, support high-quality practice across the nursery, and play an important role in creating exceptional experiences for every child.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a senior early years role, such as Third in Charge, Senior Room Leader, or Room Leader.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Confidence supporting and mentoring practitioners to deliver high-quality early years practice.
  • A positive, proactive approach and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Your Role

  • Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery.
  • Lead and motivate practitioners, promoting high standards of care and education throughout the setting.
  • Help maintain engaging learning environments that inspire creativity, confidence, and curiosity.
  • Support staff through coaching, mentoring, and leading by example.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Monitor children's learning and development, ensuring high-quality early years practice is maintained.
  • Help ensure the nursery remains fully compliant with safeguarding, health and safety, and EYFS requirements.
  • Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager when required.
