Cover People are working in partnership with a specialist school in Oldham to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for September 2026. The school provides education for pupils who have experienced barriers to mainstream education, offering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every young person is supported to re-engage with learning and achieve success. The Role:
- Support pupils with a range of social, emotional and additional learning needs throughout the school day
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and personalised learning activities
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage pupils to re-engage with education
- Promote independence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing
- Support positive behaviour using consistent, relationship-focused approaches
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for every pupil
We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour is desirable
- A patient, calm, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive relationships based on trust and mutual respect
- A genuine commitment to inclusive education and helping every pupil reach their potential
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential
