Cover People are working in partnership with a specialist secondary school in Tameside to recruit an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for September 2026. The Role:
- Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs within the classroom and around the school
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities
- Encourage independence, confidence, communication, and positive social interactions
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to help pupils achieve their individual learning goals
- Promote positive behaviour through consistent encouragement and relationship-based support
- Help create a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every pupil feels valued
We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- A genuine commitment to inclusion and supporting every child to succeed
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential
