Location: Ashton-under-Lyne (OL6)
Start Date: September 2026
Days/Time: Monday to Friday | 8:20am - 3:30pm | Full-Time
Pay: From £115 per day
We are recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Alternative Provision in OL6 this September. This rewarding role involves working with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage with learning and reach their full potential.
The Role:
· Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Building positive relationships and acting as a consistent role model
- Encouraging engagement with learning and promoting positive behaviour
- Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
- Helping to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment
We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
- A calm, resilient and patient approach
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
