The role supports the safe and reliable movement of goods by road and offers an opportunity for an experienced HGV driver to contribute to day-to-day transport operations.The roleWe are looking for a dependable HGV Class 1 Driver to join a temporary daytime driving assignment in Newark. You will be responsible for completing deliveries safely, professionally and efficiently while following legal and operational requirements.Key responsibilities• Carry out planned deliveries and collections using an HGV Class 1 vehicle• Complete vehicle checks before and after each shift• Secure loads safely and report any defects or issues promptly• Follow drivers’ hours, working time and road safety regulations• Complete delivery paperwork accurately• Maintain professional communication with customers, site teams and transport colleagues• Drive responsibly and represent the business positively while on the roadSkills and qualifications• Valid UK HGV Class 1 licence, also known as Category C+E• Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)• Digital tachograph card• Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience is preferred• Good knowledge of road safety and drivers’ hours regulations• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules• Good communication and customer-service skillsBenefits• Paid every Wednesday• Opportunity to be visible to local employersThis is a temporary, days-based opportunity for a professional Class 1 driver seeking work in or around Newark.Apply today.
