I can get anxious and upset and will sometimes be loud or even reach out, especially when I am confused, hurt, or sad. I would need space, but the knowledge that someone is there helps. I don’t like loud or startling noises, and like calm instruction when being asked to do something, if it’s planned. I can become distressed in these situations, so please ensure I can get to somewhere quiet and offer me some comfort, but sometimes I like being left to calm down on my own. Please also offer me food and drink to help me calm down. I have limited awareness of danger and can be quite anxious in new places. I may refuse to enter somewhere new, so please keep to planned places. Car driver is preferred. As part of a team, it also really helps if you can work flexibly to cover other carers' holiday and sickness, where possible.
