We currently have a vacancy for a Facilities Coordinator. This post will fall under the Facilities Division at Lancaster University and the successful candidate will form part of the Security and Porter team reporting to the day supervisor/shift supervisor in the main Security Lodge. You should be hard working, reliable, willing to learn and possess excellent customer service skills. You should have experience of working in a similar role along with experience of working in a multi-cultural environment. You should be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English and be committed to high standards, able to work on your own initiative and have a flexible approach and attitude to solving day to day problems. You should also have a willingness to undergo development training. The vacancy is Full Time working 36.5 hours covering 8.00am to 4.00pm Mon – Thu and 8.00am – 3.00pm on Fri with a 30 minute unpaid lunchbreak. The position is for 12 months fixed term.

Working with the Conferences and Events+ team, you will manage the guest rooms reception and deal with all general enquiries. Using your experience in coordination with group bookings and excellent customer service, you will play a key role and bring support for events and conferences that exceed expectations. To be successful in this role you will have: Experience in hotel/hospitality industry. Experience in general admin and ability to gather and present information. Experience of using booking systems, databases and of producing invoices. To demonstrate initiative, be proactive and a problem solver. Excellent organisation and planning skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent written communication skills (including proofreading skills) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Good IT skills, particularly MS Office packages. The Conferences and Events+ department at Lancaster University supports a range of high-profile events and conferences for the institution as well as events for the general public and offers between 80 and 1000 bedrooms to visitors.
