HMP Perth houses a population of adult males. The population contains a proportion of individuals who have been placed on remand as well as those serving short term, long term or indeterminate sentences. We are a small, busy team composed of qualified Social Workers and Business Support. Our role is to provide a quality social work service to statutory prisoners. We also provide a Duty social work service that all prisoners can access. A significant element of our role within the prison is to assess and manage potential risks that individuals may pose at different stages in their sentences, as they pass through closed conditions and prepare for access to open conditions and/or release on Licence or a Supervised Release Order. We do this by way of providing reports to the Parole Board and attending Parole Oral Hearings. We also take part in multi-agency decision making forums such as: Risk Management Team (RMTs); Integrated Case Management (ICMs); Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA); and Programme Casework Management Board (PCMB). We work in partnership with the Scottish Prison Service and community social work agencies to support and manage all statutory offenders. We currently have the following opportunity: Locality Co-ordinator (Inclusion) - PKC13945 £64,659 Based at 2 High Street, Perth Within Perth and Kinross, the Inclusion Service have a number of peripatetic teams who provide specialist assessment, teaching and support to children in schools and their families, aligned to our Staged Intervention Framework. This includes a team of Pupil Support and Outreach teachers in addition to Early Years specialists, EAL teachers, and teachers qualified to support children and young people who are deaf, partially deaf, blind, or deafblind. Given the geographic spread of Perth and Kinross, our teams will work within a distinct locality area. The post holder will have responsibility for the operational line management of a multi-disciplinary team of teachers, practitioners and support staff to serve the needs of children in a named locality area. In addition, the post holder will have strategic responsibility for the professional development of one or more of the specialist peripatetic teams across the local authority. The post holder will inform and support school leaders in relation to local decision making and allocation of resource to meet identified needs within schools. You will ensure fulfilment of statutory duties, in line with national and local guidance. In doing so, the post holder will have responsibility for both the creation, analysis and reporting of key performance and impact data in relation to their locality team.
