This is a fantastic long-term contract opportunity within a busy warehouse environment, supporting the preparation, packing and dispatch of books. The successful candidates will assist across the warehouse as required, with full training provided for each area of the role. Being a strong team player is important, as you will be a valued member of the warehouse team and will help contribute to a positive, supportive working environment. Please note this is not a short term role. There will be full training given and you will be working on a ongoing long term basis. The working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, 37.5 hour week. Pay rate starts at £12.71ph and increases after 12 weeks to £13.45ph. Overtime is occassionally available at a 50% uplift on standard pay rate. THE ROLE • Performing general warehouse duties. • Unpacking and loading books into stock. • Stickering and de-stickering books. • Picking and packing books ready for dispatch onto conveyor belt systems. • Assisting with general warehouse duties as required. • Undertaking any other duties requested by the Supervisor or Manager. • Following all site Health & Safety procedures at all times. • Happy to work in an environment where there is heavy lifting involved. • Using hand scanners. SKILLS REQUIRED • Previous warehouse, picking, packing or production experience would be advantageous, although it is not essential. • A reliable and loyal work history is a strong advantage. • A strong team player with a flexible approach, who enjoys contributing to a positive sense of camaraderie within the team. • Ability to work on your own initiative when required. • A good understanding of English to ensure Health & Safety instructions are understood. • Willingness to carry out occasional heavy lifting. • Self motivated to work in a repetitive environment.
