We are looking for Mechanical Fitters / Tunnellers to join a major tunnelling operation, with projects available throughout the UK. This is a dual-role position, offering the opportunity to develop both mechanical fitting and practical tunnelling skills. You must be willing to get involved in all aspects of tunnelling operations and enjoy a hands-on working environment. The Role You will initially work as part of an experienced tunnelling team, learning how to identify, diagnose and repair mechanical issues across a wide range of tunnelling equipment. Alongside the mechanical side of the role, you will become fully involved in tunnelling operations, developing practical tunnelling skills while gaining hands-on experience with the mechanical equipment used on major projects. The role will provide exposure to: Mechanical maintenance and repairs Tunnelling machinery and equipment Fault finding and breakdown response TBMs and associated tunnelling equipment Shaft and tunnel operations Mechanical installation and maintenance General tunnelling activities Working alongside experienced tunnelling and mechanical teams Developing towards a multi-skilled tunnelling and mechanical role Project Locations Initial trial project: Cheshire Following successful completion of the initial project, the next assignment will be in Hampshire, with further projects available across the UK.
