    Dispensing Optician

Zest Business Group Ltd - Manchester, Greater Manchester

    £30,000 to £33,000 a year

    PermanentFull time

Dispensing Optician | Manchester City Centre | Bespoke Styling Practice | Up to £33,000 + Bonus Potential £12,000+ Some practices dispense glasses. This one choreographs an experience - the coffee, the music, the curated tray of frames chosen just for you - and has built one of the most talked-about reputations in the country doing it. At a Glance Dispensing Optician (Styling Consultant) role, Manchester city centre Up to £33,000 salary + bonus potential exceeding £12,000 Full time, 9:00am-5:30pm, one full weekend off per month No rushed dispenses - full styling consultations built around the individual About the Opportunity Zest Optical are working in partnership with one of the UK's most respected boutique styling practices, based in the heart of Manchester city centre. This isn't a practice that dispenses off a rack. Every client goes through a full styling consultation - getting to know their lifestyle, their personality, what they actually want to feel like in a frame - before a tray of hand-picked options is curated just for them. Every touchpoint is considered. The coffee is locally roasted. The music is chosen. The pace is unhurried. It's a service philosophy borrowed from the best names in hospitality as much as from optics, and it shows: a five-star reputation built on hundreds of genuine reviews, a client base that returns for decades, and a calendar that includes trunk shows, collection launches and team socials rather than just another week on the shop floor. Opticians travel from across the UK and internationally just to see how this practice does what it does - this is very much the flagship for that way of working. The Role Lead full styling consultations - understanding a client's lifestyle, features and personal style before curating their tray of frames Guide clients through a genuinely bespoke eyewear journey, not a transactional dispense Build long-term relationships with clients who return again and again, often for years Get involved in trunk shows, collection launches and events that showcase the practice's range Work alongside a small, close-knit team who take real pride in the standard they deliver Be part of a practice actively shaping what "best in class" looks like for the wider industry What We're Looking For GOC-registered Dispensing Optician Someone who sees eyewear as identity and personal style, not just a prescription solution A natural, warm communicator who can build genuine rapport quickly Comfortable being coached to a very high service standard - this is closer to luxury retail or hospitality than a typical optical role Genuine excitement at the idea of working somewhere this considered, rather than intimidated by it Salary & Benefits Salary up to £33,000 Bonus potential exceeding £12,000 per year 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday to Saturday, with one full weekend off per month Access to trunk shows, supplier events and industry-leading training The chance to learn from a practice that other opticians travel to study Interested? This is a rare one, and it won't suit everyone - but for the right person, it's about as good as boutique optical gets in the UK.
