Cleaning Operative Location: HMP Guys Marsh, Shaftesbury, SP7 0AH Salary: £27,276.60 per annum Contract: Temporary (6 months initially), full time, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team at HMP Guys Marsh, a Category C adult male prison. As part of our Facilities Maintenance team, you'll play an important role in helping to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment across the site. Working alongside skilled colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Administrators and other Facilities professionals, you'll contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the establishment. HMP Guys Marsh operates much like a self-contained town, requiring a wide range of people and services to keep everything running effectively. Every member of the team plays a vital role in supporting the prison's safe and secure operation, and the work you do will have a positive impact on staff, visitors and those in our care. What you'll be doing: - Carrying out cleaning duties across shared facilities, communal spaces and operational areas to a high standard. - Using cleaning equipment safely and effectively, including vacuums and floor cleaning machinery. - Removing waste and helping maintain clean and tidy external areas. - Following health and safety procedures, risk assessments and site policies. - Inspecting cleaning equipment before and after use, reporting any faults or maintenance requirements. - Supporting stock checks and helping maintain cleaning supplies and materials. - Completing basic records, including cleaning logs, materials usage and timesheets. - Assisting with urgent or ad-hoc cleaning tasks as required.
