We are looking to recruit a Haematology Senior Clinical Scientist/Higher Specialist Scientist Trainee who will work alongside our Principal and Consultant Clinical Scientists within the department of Haematology at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, supporting the Haematology medical team. The role includes providing scientific advice to clinicians, participating in the duty scientist rota, and contributing to patient management through effective communication of complex findings. They will advise on and interpret a range of specialist haematology and transfusion investigations. The post holder will support quality management, service development, and staff training, ensuring compliance with ISO 15189, BSH guidance, and MHRA requirements. A strong focus on patient safety and clinical governance is essential. The role also supports professional development. The post holder will be encouraged and supported to develop advanced practice skills and to apply for the Higher Specialist Scientist Training (HSST) programme at an appropriate stage in their career.
