As an Applications Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of a second line support service for our clinical and non-clinical applications, focusing on the delivery to internal service level agreements. You will also be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of application-based projects such as new implementations and upgrades. These responsibilities are shared with other Applications Managers. You will require a university degree or have demonstrable equivalent experience and have managed time limited projects, leading a team, to deliver results whilst working with third party suppliers to agreed deadlines. You will have excellent problem solving, communication and organisational skills, along with experience of managing a team within a Digital environment. A detailed knowledge of how computer systems support patient care and the management processes within an NHS Trust will be essential as will experience of working in a system management role. The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, looking after more than 64,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 25% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country. We are seeking an exceptional Band 7 Ward Manager to lead and manage surgical care unit which will be based on E4 and F6 ward. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team and a supportive division. Surgical care unit is the day care area which is responsible for the admission and preparation of patients undergoing planned surgery including clinical observations, medication checks and administration, patient education and nurse led discharges, provide safe and effective care throughout the patients’ stay including post-operative monitoring , discharge planning and provide appropriate discharge advice and follow up information. Elective post-operative in patient area will be responsible for providing comprehensive post op care to patients while identifying and escalating any complications. To work closely with multi-disciplinary team to promote safe recovery and timely discharge. The successful candidate will lead a team that is passionate about delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care in a fast-paced environment. As Ward Manager, you will need to demonstrate strong clinical credibility, excellent decision-making skills and the ability to support your team in recognising and responding to deteriorating patients. What we're looking for: • An experienced registered nurse with significant post-registration experience within acute surgical or emergency care settings. • A visible and inspiring leader who can motivate, develop and empower teams. • Strong operational and organisational skills with experience managing patient flow and service delivery. • Excellent clinical assessment skills and the ability to recognise, manage and escalate deteriorating patients. • A commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and continuous service development. • The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across the surgical pathway.
