£27,000 to £29,000 a year

LOCATION: Nailsworth HOURS: 08.30 – 16.30 Monday to Friday START DATE: Immediate start for successful candidate PAY: £27,000pa - £29,000pa plus performance related bonus PERMANENT JOB INDHS Nailsworth Office: 01453 832468 E: liam.edwards@ess-emp.co.uk www.ess-emp.co.uk Vacancy – Business Development Executive Our client sells innovative products for the building, repair and industrial markets, together with specialist branded paints and coatings. The business deliberately looks for products that solve problems differently or more simply than conventional solutions. Because the products can often be used across several different industries, one of our biggest opportunities is identifying new markets and getting those products in front of the right people. Much of the business is generated online through e-commerce operation, but we see considerable potential from more proactive business development. The company is growing, continually developing new products and market opportunities and is also beginning to pursue acquisitions. This means the role has significant scope to develop for the right person. The Role: We are looking for a bright, commercially minded salesperson to help us find new customers, markets and applications for our products. Someone looking to a gain a sales development role potentially for the first time. Someone early in their career with intelligence, initiative and genuine ambition could be more suitable than somebody with years of traditional sales experience. Rather than being given one fixed market or list of customers, the successful person will actively investigate and develop opportunities in areas such as: • Roofing and construction • Plant hire and construction equipment • Facilities management • Automotive and commercial vehicles • Industrial maintenance • Utilities and infrastructure • Manufacturing • Marine • Agricultural equipment • Property maintenance • Other markets and applications that we have not yet identified The successful candidate will use a combination of telephone, email, LinkedIn, online research and AI-assisted prospecting to identify and approach potential customers. You must be a good face to face and telephone communicator. Where a market or message starts to show promise, the wider business can support more structured email and marketing campaigns to develop it further. Key Responsibilities: Prospecting and New Business • Research potential customers and new market sectors. • Identify the appropriate people within target organisations. • Make initial contact by telephone, email and LinkedIn. • Explain our products clearly and identify whether there is a genuine application. • Follow prospects consistently rather than relying on one-off contact. • Generate enquiries, trials, samples and ultimately orders. • Develop successful prospects into repeat customers where possible. • Maintain accurate records of contacts, opportunities and follow-up activity. Finding New Markets An important part of the role is not simply working through lists supplied by somebody else. We want the successful candidate to: • Investigate new uses for our products. • Identify industries experiencing problems our products could solve. • Research competitor products and existing methods. • Suggest potential campaigns and target markets. • Feed customer comments and market intelligence back into the business. • Help us decide which markets deserve greater investment. We do not expect the successful candidate to be an AI specialist. We do expect them to be interested in learning how to use it effectively as this will form a major part of the business as they grow. The Person We Are Looking For Previous sales experience would be useful but is not essential. We are more interested in ability, attitude and potential. The person is likely to be: • Naturally curious. • Comfortable speaking to people they do not know. • Persistent without being aggressive. • Able to write a clear, professional email.
