We are seeking a Strategic Pricing Manager - Public Sector to play a critical role in supporting profitable, sustainable growth by leading commercial pricing activities across strategic bids, renewals and retentions.
Reporting to the Strategic Pricing Director, you will be responsible for developing commercially robust, competitive and operationally deliverable pricing solutions that enable winning outcomes while protecting long-term profitability.
Job Description
Working closely with Sales, Commercial, Operations, Finance, Procurement and Solutioning teams, you will provide strategic pricing leadership across major pursuits, influence commercial strategy, drive governance and deliver data-driven insights to support key business decisions.
You will also help strengthen pricing consistency, commercial governance and organisational capability through coaching and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end pricing process for strategic opportunities, from qualification through to submission and approval.
Act as the lead pricing partner for strategic opportunities and major pursuits.
Develop innovative pricing strategies, commercial models and solution concepts that support customer value, competitive differentiation and profitable growth.
Build robust financial models, business cases and commercial evaluations to support commercial decision-making.
Own the integrity, accuracy and alignment of pricing models, assumptions and profitability forecasts.
Assess, document and mitigate commercial, operational and contractual risks within pricing solutions.
Utilise market intelligence, competitor analysis and customer insights to inform pricing decisions and bid positioning.
Build strong relationships across Sales, Commercial, Operations, Finance, Procurement and Solutioning teams, presenting recommendations, risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Previous experience in a similar role.
Experience managing a portfolio of large, complex strategic deals.
Experience in pricing, commercial finance, bid management or a related commercial role.
Strong financial modelling, pricing and commercial analysis skills.
Experience developing pricing strategies and commercial propositions for complex service-based opportunities.
Ability to assess commercial risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Strong stakeholder management, influencing and presentation skills.
Proven ability to work closely with a wide range of teams and departments.
Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and influence decision-making.
