About us:
Freight Meter Ltd is a freight forwarding and logistics company near Heathrow. We provide air, sea and road freight, customs clearance, warehousing and 3PL fulfilment to UK businesses that import and export goods.
The role:
We are growing and need two sales executives to win new customers and turn enquiries into regular accounts. You will report to our Business Development Manager. One post focuses on air, sea and customs freight customers and the other on 3PL and warehousing customers. Selected Candidates will report the Business Development Manager.
Main duties:
• Research and contact UK importers, exporters and online retailers by phone, email and online platforms to find new business.
• Respond to quote requests and prepare quotations using carrier, shipping line and haulier rates, following each one up until it is won or lost.
• Set up new customer accounts, including credit terms and agreed service levels, and pass confirmed jobs to operations.
• Keep customer records and the sales pipeline up to date and report weekly against monthly targets.
• Work with operations and the warehouse so that quoted services and capacity can be delivered.
Essential requirements
Requirements: • At least two years’ sales or business development experience in freight forwarding, logistics or a similar commercial role. • Good knowledge of air, sea and road freight, warehousing and Incoterms. • Strong negotiation and quotation skills, and strong written and spoken English. • Confident use of Excel and CRM software. • Qualification at RQF level 3 or above (A levels, BTEC or equivalent). A degree or HND in business, marketing or logistics is preferred. Benefits: 28 days’ paid holiday including bank holidays, and a workplace pension.
