Summary
Ready to lead with compassion and inspire with purpose?
At Sense, we believe everyone should have the power, choice and control to live the life they choose. We work alongside disabled people with complex needs to break down barriers, drive change and create opportunities for everyone to take part in the things that matter to them.
We are looking for a Registered Care Manager to lead our small residential home in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, rated Good by CQC. You will work alongside a dedicated Deputy Manager and Support Workers in a close knit home where knowing each person as an individual, and enabling them to live life on their own terms, is at the heart of everything we do.
This is a permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £34,671 per annum (£17.78 per hour). Your shift pattern will vary. A full UK manual driving licence is essential, as company vehicles are used for appointments, activities and trips, but you do not need your own.
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous management experience in a care setting, such as residential care, supported living or community services
Leads with compassion and confidence, building a culture where colleagues feel supported, accountable and empowered to do their best
Puts people at the heart of every decision, so they have choice, control and dignity, however they communicate
Takes ownership of quality and compliance, balancing the detail with the bigger picture and turning CQC requirements and audits into improvements that last
Is adaptable, solution focused and resilient, and sees potential, not limitations
Will use British Sign Language (BSL) to communicate, with Sense providing or funding training if you need it
Holds an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or is willing to work towards it, which Sense can fund
Above all, you will have the courage to challenge poor practice, the humility to keep learning and the determination to make a positive difference every day.
Knowledge or experience of supporting people with multiple sensory impairments, physical disabilities and/or learning disabilities, including autism, would be an advantage.
This role might include:
Leading the day to day running of the service, so support is safe, responsive, person led and high quality
Leading, supervising and mentoring the team, and working closely with the Deputy Manager
Managing rotas, records and systems so everything stays accurate and up to date
Overseeing CQC compliance, audits and improvement plans
Promoting person centred approaches that recognise communication differences, sensory needs and preferences, and supporting the team to respond to behaviours of concern with a focus on each person’s wellbeing
Working with families and other professionals to deliver consistent, meaningful support

When you join Sense, you'll have access to a range of benefits, including:
