Summary

Luma Education Recruitment is working with an impressive and highly regarded specialist school in Towcester, Northamptonshire, to recruit an experienced English Teacher / Functional Skills English Teacher.

Set within stunning rural surroundings, the school provides a calm and supportive learning environment with small class sizes, allowing teachers to give pupils a more personalised level of support and attention.

This is an excellent opportunity for an English Teacher, Functional Skills English Teacher, SEN English Teacher or SEND Teacher looking to work in a specialist educational setting where teaching can be adapted closely around individual pupil needs.

You will teach English and Functional Skills English to pupils within a specialist SEND setting, helping them develop their literacy, communication and practical English skills.

With small class sizes and a supportive team around you, the role offers the opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and deliver engaging, appropriately differentiated lessons.

You will:

Plan and deliver English and Functional Skills English lessons

Teach literacy, reading, writing, grammar and communication skills

Adapt lessons and resources to meet individual SEND learning needs

Support pupils working towards relevant Functional Skills English qualifications

Provide personalised teaching within small class groups

Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual learning plans

Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff

Create engaging and accessible learning experiences

Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and practical English skills

QTS is preferred, alongside experience teaching English or Functional Skills. Experience working within a SEND, special school, alternative provision or specialist education setting would be advantageous.

An Enhanced DBS is required prior to starting.

£180-£230 per day
