Summary

Sales Manager

The Job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established international animal nutrition business as it expands its presence across the UK and Northern Ireland. We are recruiting for two sales positions: one to lead UK sales, which can be based anywhere in the UK, and another to develop the Northern Ireland market.

These roles offer the opportunity to build a customer base, develop your territory and help shape the future of the business. You will sell feed additives, premixes and nutritional solutions directly to farms and feed mills, focusing on ruminants or pigs depending on your experience.

Key responsibilities:

- Identifying and winning new business across your territory

- Building long-term relationships with farmers, feed mills and industry contacts

- Developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities to increase sales

- Working alongside the technical team to recommend suitable nutritional solutions

- Managing the sales process and coordinating with operations to support customer service

- Monitoring sales performance and providing market feedback

- Representing the business at agricultural shows and industry events

- Helping develop the sales function, with scope to build and lead a team as the business grows

The Candidate:

- A proven sales background within animal nutrition, feed or feed additives

- Experience in the ruminant or pig sector—experience in both is not required

- Track record of winning new business and developing customer relationships

- Good knowledge of livestock production and the needs of farmers and feed mills

- Commercially driven, proactive and comfortable building a territory from a small existing customer base

- Able to work independently and manage your own workload

- Strong communication and negotiation skills

- An agricultural qualification would be advantageous

- Technical nutrition expertise would be a bonus

- Previous team management experience is not essential, although an interest in future leadership would be welcome

- Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel across your territory

The Package:

- £35,000–£80,000 salary, depending on experience

- Company car, including private use, and fuel card

- Laptop and mobile phone

- UK sales position can be based anywhere in the UK

- Support from an established international business and technical team

- The opportunity to develop your own territory, with scope to build and lead a team in the future

Candidate Requirements

All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
