Your new roleAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you may be required to:

Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups

Assist children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language needs, SEMH or other additional needs

Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to support learning and development

Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Encourage independence, confidence and social development

Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupils' needs

Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will:

Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or support setting

Demonstrate patience, empathy and resilience

Be passionate about supporting children with additional needs

Have strong communication and relationship-building skills

Be flexible, adaptable and committed to helping pupils succeed

Relevant experience in education, care, youth work, coaching, mental health support or residential care is highly desirable.
